Another lost generation
Another lost generation

Mar-a-Lago comes to mind, and what Trump did when the chips were down.

First, yes, let’s talk about these charges that (of all people) Trump is a white supremacist, or that he favors that group.

Donald Trump does not have a bigoted bone in his body, and yet, as to Pittsburgh, that is the accusation raised against him.

Whatever he says about it; not good enough, as if the slaughter of innocents at the Tree of Life Synagogue had anything to do with him.

Some even protested his visit to Pittsburgh to pay his condolences. They found a pretext, and a convenient pretext it’s been since a year ago.

Because when white supremacists went marching in Charlottesville last year, and were met by opposition rallies, which set off violence, Trump condemned them all.

Trump’s measured response -- “I condemn hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.”

Not good enough. The Left wanted a blanket condemnation against one side only, the white supremacists, and for themselves, a free pass.

To this day, to this moment, Liberals keep bringing that up – “Remember Charlottesville,” they keep saying, as a stigma against him for his failure to make them happy.

“Remember Charlottesville.” That was all I kept hearing when I met with a group of Jewish leaders last night on the subject of Pittsburgh.

Remember Jerusalem, I responded, as to Trump’s naming it the capital of Israel.

Not good enough.

Remember his moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, the first and only President to do so.

Not good enough. Do they even care about Jerusalem? But that is another column and even another book written clairvoyantly for this time.

What about his Jewish daughter, his Jewish son-in-law, his Jewish grandchildren. Still you call him a white supremacist, AND anti-Semitic?

Yes they do…and so this morning, before it’s too late, I urge them to read Ron Jager’s marvelous column in Arutz Sheva.

It runs as “American Jewry’s worst-case scenario,” and it is perhaps the best writing you will ever read about Liberal American Jews – as opposed to Trump-supporting Conservative American Jews -- and how they have sold their hearts, minds and souls to the Left. Simply and accurately, it is an indictment. It is a judgment, and a proper one, against a generation that has traded its Hebraic birthright for a bowl of radical pieties.

It is a Lost Generation.

To this lost generation, I say – remember Mar-a-Lago.

Back in the 1990s, Trump figured Palm Beach, Fla to be a perfect spot for a country club. He turned it into a spa for the rich and famous.

If you had the money, you were welcome. If you were African-American, you were welcome. If you were Jewish, you were welcome – and that was how the trouble began.

The town resented Trump’s inclusive policy. Neighboring golf clubbers revolted and campaigned against him.

Didn’t he know the rules? Blacks and Jews, restricted, not allowed. They didn’t know Trump.

First they asked him to change his mind. Absolutely no. Then they demanded it, and imposed conditions that would make it impossible for him to operate.

Trump didn’t give an inch. He fought them. He fought them to end the discrimination – and he won.

In their haste to “repair the world,” but only if it fits their do-gooder Progressive agenda, they are blinded to the fact that Donald Trump has been doing so.
Do Jewish Liberals know this?

Seems that in their haste to “repair the world,” but only if it fits their do-gooder Progressive agenda, they are blinded to the fact that Donald Trump has been doing so.

He has been repairing the world, in his own time, in his own way…if only they would open their eyes and give the man a chance.

But Liberals give nobody, nobody else, a chance. It is their way or the highway.

Anti-Semitism is a baseless hatred, and so is the Resist Trump Movement…if only they would hold up a mirror to themselves.

Can this lost generation be saved? No.
